Fix the Appraisal System: Let the people vote on ending the outrageous spikes that fuel higher property tax bills.
Elect County Appraisers: Missouri and many other states elect appraisers and carry a lighter tax load. If sheriffs and district attorneys answer to voters, so should the people who set the taxable value of your home.
Impose Real Local Limits on Property Tax Increases: Angela backed real taxpayer protections — including protest petitions — empowering the people to fight back so local governments can’t ram through large increases.
Demand Transparency: Build on the bipartisan Truth in Taxation law, which sends a notice to taxpayers before local governments vote to raise property taxes. Angela wants a second notice after they vote — informing taxpayers how their local officials voted on the tax increase.
